Yossi Benayoun has been signed by Chelsea as a replacement for departing winger Joe Cole. The Blues reportedly paid between £5 million and £6 million for Benayoun, who played three years at Liverpool, registering 18 goals in 92 appearances. Benayoun, speaking about the move, said  "I am very excited to come to a club like Chelsea, it is a big club and I think it is a dream for every player. Hopefully we will be successful."

The move had been anticipated for some time, as Benayoun and former manager Rafael Benitez agreed that the midfielder would be allowed to leave Merseyside. A statement on the Liverpool website wished Benayoun the best of luck in the future.
