Man City showing interest in Landon Donovan

Manchester City are trying to sign LA Galaxy midfielder Landon Donovan. City are in New York for preseason friendlies, and boss Roberto Mancini spoke highly of Donovan. "Donovan is a good player. Could be possible," said Mancini. Manchester City are trying to bolster their attack, and they have embarked on another ridiculous spending spree this summer, attempting to purchase a Premiership title.

Though a move to a high-profile club like City appears to be a good choice for Donovan, in reality, it could pose disaster for the American World Cup hero. City already have Shaun Wright-Philips, Stephen Ireland, and new signing David Silva on the wing, and Roque Santa Cruz, Craig Bellamy, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Carlos Tevez up top. While not all of these player can be expected to be in Manchester come the start of the season, the club may not be finished spending and finding regular playing time may be a struggle for Donovan.
