Liverpool After Diego Forlan

Weeks after Diego Forlan’s impressive showcase at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Liverpool has come forward showing their interest in the Uruguay star. Forlan received the Golden Ball award labeling him as the best player of the tournament, and helped lead Uruguay deep into the later rounds.
Forlan has previously stated that he would have no problem remaining with his former team, Atletico Madrid, but may be lured away if a good offer comes his way. Liverpool is expected to make an official offer, especially if they sell current forward Fernando Torres. Torres was not near top form in South Africa and it is believed that many teams will not want to sign him for the near 50 million Euros that it would take. However, if Liverpool does end up selling Torres, it seems likely that Diego Forlan will find himself in the Premiere League next season.
