Benfica's Ramires In Search of Bigger Club

After an impressive showing at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Brazilian international and Benfica star Ramires may be heading to a major European club. It is believed that several clubs from both Spanish La Liga and the English Premiere League are interested in the Brazilian’s services.

Ramires’s agent has been in contact with these clubs since the World Cup ended, although Ramires said in an interview that he is not certain which teams these actually are.

“I don’t know the names of the clubs that are after me, but it would be a dream for me to play for a big club such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, or Chelsea,” said Ramires.

Ramires signed with Benfica in the 2009 season for 7.5 million Euros, and is currently signed through 2014. However, he may be released earlier to go to one of the Champions League powers if the club buying him is willing to shell out his 30 million Euro release fee.
