Despite a disasterous World Cup that included being sent home by the French Football Federation, Nicolas Anelka has extended his contract at Chelsea for an additional year, which will keep him in London until 2012. Anelka has scored 42 times in 123 games for the Blues since joining from Bolton in 2008. Anelka proclaimed his desire to stay at Chelsea, saying, "It is a big club, you play with big players and I like this club, I like London. There is no need to move anymore and so I am very glad to sign a new contract and I know we will play in big games and win titles. I am very glad."
